Thread: Breeding FW shrimp...

  1. Breeding FW shrimp...

So I have a bunch of cherry shrimp that havn't been breeding (i know a rare occasion eh?). I think it is the hardness of my water which is really soft. Is there anything I can use in the household that will raise my hardness? If not what product would you recommend me buying? The city water we have right now is REALLY soft and all m crustaceans don't like it.

    Thanks guys :icon_woot:

Use crushed coral. It's a lot more controlable then baking soda.

Baking soda will work, but it has a ph of 8.4 so it will raise your ph. Crushed coral will work but it is slow and your ph has to be acidic to disolve.

So I guess the bottom line is baking soda or crushed coral. I've been meaning to buy some crushed coral anyways so that sound slike a plan! Thanks guys!
